Rachelle Katz, Ed.D., LMFT, is a licensed marriage and family therapist, stepmother and stepcouple coach, and a stepmother.

She has more than 30-years of experience working as a psychotherapist in New York City. She also coaches stepmothers individually or with their partners virtually and by phone.

She received her B.A. in Psychology from Clark University, her M.Ed. in Counseling Psychology from Boston College, her M.A. in Clinical Psychology from the New School for Social Research, and her doctorate in Family and Community Education from Teachers College, Columbia University.

She is a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and The American Psychological Association.

Rachelle is the author of The Happy Stepmother: Stay Sane, Empower Yourself, Thrive in Your New Family, a self-help guide for stepmothers.

Her second book, a self-help guide for stepcouples, The Happy Stepcouple: How Couples With Stepchildren Can Strengthen Their Relationships, was recently published. Rachelle has also written a bi-monthly column for stepmom magazine. She owns and moderates a website, stepsforstepmothers.com which features a posting board where stepmothers can support, encourage, and advise each other.
